Local Youth Forums in Edinburgh

Local Youth Forums are a chance for you to have your say on issues that affect your life. Debates, discussions and actions at youth forums can affect decisions made at a local level, all the way up to the highest level in government. You can make a difference!
We look at all sorts of issues including:
  • Local transport such as buses and trams
  • Parks and graffiti
  • Schools and after school activities
  • Healthy eating and smoking
  • Sports facilities and clubs

You can choose how your Youth Forum works, the issues you deal with and even the name. We work closely with the 12 Neighbourhood Partnerships set up across the city. The Neighbourhood Partnerships work to improve the quality of life in each area, so the opinions and suggestions made at Local Youth Forms are important to them.

We build links with other organisations too. They include:

You could attend meetings with these groups to tell them about your opinions and solutions to the issues that you feel are important. The forums are supported by youth workers from your local community learning and development team or youth organisation.

Get involved and have your say… Email the person who deals with your Local Youth Forum or phone Paul James on 0131 332 6316.
